DH-Robotics is a well-known maker of electric grippers, and its PGE (slim) and PGI/PGIA (long-stroke, high-load) series are used widely in industrial automation. This page is for engineers and buyers who want a second source, a backup supplier, or a gripper that fits a similar envelope. We compare only published numbers: DH-Robotics figures come from its official product pages (linked under each table), and Grippersupply figures come from our product catalog.

Which Grippersupply model replaces which DH-Robotics gripper?

Your application DH-Robotics model Grippersupply option
Slim gripper, 26 mm stroke, small parts PGE-5-26 EPG2-26-15
Very small parts, simple open/close PGE-8-14 EPGS-12-15 or EPGS-6-10
IP54, 3 kg payload, cobot or machine tending PGI-140-80 EPGC-50-150
Rotating as well as gripping — ERG-20-80

These are “closest fit” suggestions, not one-to-one clones. Always check stroke, force and mounting against your part and robot.

Note on force: DH-Robotics states force per jaw. Our catalog states the gripper’s continuous gripping force without a per-jaw label. Ask us to confirm how force is measured before you size a gripper close to the limit.

The PGI-140-80 has the longer stroke (80 mm vs 50 mm). If your parts need more than 50 mm of opening, the EPGC-50-150 is not a direct replacement; tell us the part size and we will suggest an option.

Where Grippersupply is a good fit

  • Small batches and prototypes. MOQ is 1 piece, so you can test one gripper on a cell before you commit.
  • Fast quotes. Send the model, quantity and application on WhatsApp and we reply with a quote within 24 hours.
  • Short lead time. Lead time confirmed on quote.
  • Built-in controller. All EPG/ERG models have the driver integrated in the gripper body and run on DC 24 V, so there is no external control box to mount.
  • Two ways to control. Modbus RTU over RS485 for position/force/speed commands, or simple I/O for open/close. EPGS models are I/O only, which keeps PLC logic very simple.
  • Certifications. Certificates available on request.

Verdict

Choose on verifiable specs: stroke (EPG2-26-15: 0–26 mm; EPGC-50-150: 50 mm), repeatability (±0.02 mm on both), communication (Modbus RTU over RS485, or I/O), protection rating (IP40 / IP54), MOQ 1 piece, 12-month warranty, and Lead time confirmed on quote. Ask us to confirm how force is measured before you size a gripper close to its limit.

Where a DH-Robotics model may suit you better

To be fair to your project: DH-Robotics lists optional fieldbus interfaces (TCP/IP, USB2.0, CAN2.0A, PROFINET, EtherCAT) on the PGE and PGI pages, and a slimmer 26 mm body on the PGE-5-26. The PGI-140-80 has an 80 mm stroke. If you need one of those exact features, compare carefully.

How to switch from a PGE or PGI to a Grippersupply gripper

  1. Write down the part: size range, weight, material, and how fragile it is.
  2. Check stroke: the jaw opening must clear the largest part plus a safety gap.
  3. Check force and payload: use the recommended payload, not just the force number.
  4. Check the interface: if your PLC already talks Modbus RTU to a PGE or PGI, our Modbus models use the same physical layer (RS485). The register map is different, so you will need to update the addresses in your program. Contact us for the register map.
  5. Check mounting: compare the bolt pattern and finger interface. The EPGC-50-150 flange can be customized to your robot’s hole pattern.
  6. Order one unit (MOQ 1), test it, then scale.

FAQ

Is Grippersupply’s EPG2-26-15 a drop-in replacement for the DH-Robotics PGE-5-26?
Not a mechanical drop-in. Both have a 26 mm stroke, ±0.02 mm repeatability, 24 V DC supply and Modbus RTU (RS485) + I/O control, but the dimensions, mounting holes and register map differ. Plan to change the adapter plate and the PLC addresses.

What is the closest alternative to the DH-Robotics PGI-140-80?
The EPGC-50-150: ±0.02 mm repeatability, Modbus RTU (RS485) + I/O, IP54, 3 kg recommended payload, 1 kg, with a standard brake. Its stroke is 50 mm versus 80 mm on the PGI-140-80.

Do your grippers support Modbus RTU like DH-Robotics grippers?
Yes. EPG2, EPGC and ERG models support Modbus RTU over RS485 and I/O. EPGS models are I/O only. Contact us for the register map.

What is the minimum order quantity?
1 piece. You can buy a single gripper for testing.

How fast can you deliver?
Lead time confirmed on quote. We reply to quote requests within 24 hours.

Do you publish prices?
No. Prices depend on model and quantity. Ask for a quote on WhatsApp or by email.
